My name is Britten Petrey and I am MAN Marketing’s summer 2015 intern. I am currently a senior at the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana. I am pursuing a dual degree in advertising and sociology with a minor in public relations. I am also a member of the University of Illinois women’s cross-country and track team. Upon graduation in May of 2016 I hope to go to graduate school for marketing or business administration. In the future, I want to work at an agency that allows me to focus on account management while helping with other phases of the advertising campaign process.
I do not think I could have found a better fit for a summer internship that meets all of my future plans to work in a full- service agency. As an intern for MAN Marketing, I have been given the opportunity to wear several hats that allow me to see the production side, creative side, and account coordination side of advertising. One of my favorite aspects about being an intern for MAN Marketing is how all of the employees encourage the learning process. I have been able to see my education at the University of Illinois come to life and exceed my expectations.
What separates MAN Marketing from most advertising agencies is their commitment to being loyal to not just one, but many clients in various areas around the United States. As the member of two teams at the University of Illinois, commitment and loyalty are two values that I strive to show every day. MAN Marketing has demonstrated those values at an even higher level. With the commitment and loyal attitude each staff member has shown, they have also demonstrated to me what it is like to work as a team in a business setting. MAN marketing demonstrates teamwork, commitment, and loyalty every day I come into work as an intern.
I have been thoroughly enjoying my day to day internship at MAN Marketing. I would recommend this internship to anyone that appreciates a successful advertising agency in the greater Chicago area. The learning experience, employees, atmosphere, and overall internship in my opinion, are second to none. With the hands on experience in every part of the advertising campaign process, I look forward to graduating and joining the field of advertising.
